DTES sex workers to receive "know your rights" cards

Collaborative work to ensure sex worker safety between Pivot Legal Society and SWUAV (Sex Workers United Against Violence) have succeeded in having Canada’s prostitution laws declared unconstitutional, and causing the Vancouver police to reexamine the way they enforce those laws. Now, thanks to the same organizations, sex workers in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside will receive pocket-sized cards informing them of their rights with the police.

The cards are a reminder of the new guidelines, meant to educate and to hold police accountable to follow them.
